Description:

Note: For many non-migratory species, occurrences are roughly equivalent to populations.

Estimated Number of Occurrences: 6 - 20

Comments: Eight known, 5 in Washington 3 in British Columbia as of 2003. While the COSEWIC listing document considers these 8 separate populations it is possible the two which are only 3.9 km apart would be best regarded as one occurrence An additional nine sites with the foodplants did not produce any specimens of the moth. Some may be unsuitable due to a "hypermaritime climate" and some others may not contain sufficient foodplant. Current estimates are up to four more occurrences could exist in Canada.
