    Short General Description
    Lichen; thallus foliose, mostly 1-4 cm broad, appressed; lobes mostly 1-2 mm wide, lacking marginal cilia; upper surface white to grayish, densely white pruinose; lower surface white to pale brown; rhizines sparse, white to pale brown or with dark tips; soredia marginal, linear, coarsely granular, becoming laminal in old portions; and isidia lacking; apothecia uncommon (McCune and Geiser 1997).
