Plantae - Anthophyta - Dicotyledoneae - Rosales - Rosaceae - Spiraea - As treated by Kartesz (1994 checklist), appears to include both the var. densiflora and var. splendens of the former S. densiflora here (synonymy given fits that concept); S. splendens var. rosea is the only other variety recognized by Kartesz, although Abrams cites that name as a synonym of his ssp. splendens. Floras appear to recognize at most two varieties, although names vary. LEM 20Oct94.
