Global Range
Present range is many miles of coastal beach and foredune predominantly from Cape Blanco (Curry County), southern Oregon to Point Reyes National Seashore in Marin County, middle California, and sporadically along the northern and central Oregon coast. It has also been historically known from British Columbia and Washington. Recently, two plants (2000) were found from Vancouver Island, B.C., Canada although it has not been determined whether these are A. umbellata ssp. breviflora or A. u. ssp. acutalata.
