Short General Description
Lichen; thallus of erect hemispherical or spherical cushions or knobby balls; branches terete or nearly so; branching irregular to dichotomous, compact; branches short to elongate, tapered, often delicate, not tipped with conspicuous pseudocyphellae (which are instead scattered). Apothecia rare, with a thalline margin, the disk blackish (McCune and Geiser 1997).
