Ecology and Life History
Short General Description
A perennial herb, with short stems (3.5-15 cm) compared to the tall, erect flower stalk (15-30 cm). Easily distinguished from other Astragali when in flower by the proportionately short upper petal (the banner) and the prominently projecting lateral petals (the wings).
