Ecology and Life History
Short General Description
Plants grow in dense tufts or scattered among mosses, sometimes without leaves, light yellowish green to somewhat brownish. The leafy shoots are 1-2mm wide, stems are 1.5 -2.5cm long, prostrate to suberect, branched (Frye, 1937).

Global Range
Endemic to western North America, known from Alaska, British Columbia, Idaho, Oregon, Washington (Hong 1988). Also Alberta.
