Short General Description
Lichen; thallus foliose, loosely or tightly appressed, of narrow to medium wide lobes that are thickened and puffy but solid; upper surface light gray to brown or black, depending on exposure, with pale angular markings toward the lobe tips; lower surface light brown to black (McCune and Geiser 1997).
