Ecology and Life History
Short General Description
Thallus fruticose, pendent, color olivaceous, shiny; branches roundish to angular, narrow, not dorsiventral; isidia absent although isidoid spinules occasionally arising from the soralia; soredia absent; pseudocyphellae absent to abundant, when present often inconspicuous, generally elongated, white, yellow or brownish; apothecia lateral, the disk brown. Spot tests are important for identifying Bryoria species (McCune and Geiser 1997).
