Global Range
Nativity unclear in the U.S. Occurs in California (two counties), Nevada (two counties), Alaska, Massachusetts, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming (Kartesz 2003 draft). All of Kartesz' state level reports, except California, are based on Kew Bulletin (1984), and this taxon does not show up in any regional floras. This throws suspicion on the nativity of the taxon in the U.S. Possibly just a poorly known taxa and overlooked.

Also occurs in Canada (Nova Scotia) (Kartesz 2003 draft), Mexico, and northern Eurasia (Hickman 1993).

Hickman (1993) notes that Crassula aquatica individuals from interior habitats with pedicels elongated in front have been called C. saginoides (Maxim.) Bywater & Wick. In California, occurs in salt marshes, vernal pools, and ponds (Hickman 1993).
