    Food Comments
    Feeds on acorns, pine seeds, fruit, insects, spiders, small reptiles and amphibians, eggs and young of small birds (Terres 1980). Forages in trees and on the ground.

    Clutch size is 3-5 (usually 4). Incubation is by female. Altricial young are tended by both adults.
    Ecology Comments
    May travel in flocks of a dozen or more but less gregarious than other jays (Terres 1980).
