Plantae - Anthophyta - Dicotyledoneae - Capparales - Brassicaceae - Draba - A distinct species, monographed by Mulligan in 1971. Previously considered a subspecies of D. VENTOSA A. Gray, but shown by Mulligan to be a specifically distinct, sexual outcrossing, hexaploid species (while D. VENTOSA is an agamospermous triploid species). Included in D. EXALATA in Hulten, 1968. Recognized as a distinct species in Kartesz, 1994.
Ecology and Life History
Short General Description
A perennial herb with rosettes of white-hairy leaves at the base of each stem. Flowering stems are 2-6 cm tall and bear bright yellow flowers (blooms in July).

One occurrence in northwest Washington, approximately 20 in BC, and 9 in Yukon Territory, and more than 40 occurrences in Alaska.
