<i>Elymus repens</i> is native to Eurasia (temperate Europe and Central Asia: Afghanistan, India, Pakistan). <br><br>(As an exotic, it can be found in parts of South America (Argentina and Chile) and in Australia, New Zealand, and Indonesia (Batcher, 2002). This species is found in every state in the U.S. and in Canada from Newfoundland to British Columbia and North to the Yukon (Werner and Rioux, 1977). Quackgrass has been listed among the most frequently listed in a recently compiled database of noxious weeds in the United States and Canada (Skinner et al., 2000).)
