Replaced on the coast of Alaska and outer coast of British Columbia by <i>F. p. pealei</i>. WINTERS: Those breeding in the boreal subarctic winter in South America; those at more southern latitudes exhibit variable migration behavior, and some are nonmigratory (USFWS 1999).
