Short General Description
Lichen; thallus foliose, medium sized, whitish gray to greenish gray, occasionally brownish in very exposed sites; lobes mostly 1-3 mm wide, hollow, erect or often drooping in shaded sites; lobe interiors dark; perpendicular side lobes infrequent or lacking; lower surface black; soredia and isidia lacking; apothecia common, brown (McCune and Geiser 1997).
