Plantae - Anthophyta - Dicotyledoneae - Fabales - Fabaceae - Lupinus - Recognized at the species level as Lupinus suksdorfii by Kartesz (1999). Recognized by Hitchcock et al. (1961) and Hitchcock and Cronquist (1974) as L. latifolius var. thompsonianus with L. suksdorfii as a synonym (cf. Jolley 1988). Recognized by Peck (1961), who as well recognized L. sericeus var. thompsonianus (as Kartesz 1999). Recognized by C.P. Smith in Abrams (1944), whereas var. thompsonianus was just noted by Abrams (1944), having been described too late for thorough inclusion. Not in Isely (1998), who however considered L. latifolius var. thompsonianus a synonym of var. latifolius. BMacBryde 11/30/2000.
