Global Range
This circumboreal subspecies ranges from the southern boundary of the tree line south to northern glacial boundary (or further south in higher elevation areas. In North America, it ranges from Newfoundland to Alaska, south to Nova Scotia, northern New England, New York, northern Indiana, Minnesota, South Dakota, Colorado, Oregon, and the higher elevation ranges of California.
