Treated by Kartesz (1999) as the species Ranunculus triternatus; has also been called Ranunculus glaberrimus var. reconditus (as in Kartesz, 1994), and R. reconditus (USFWS, 1996).

Global Range
Restricted to an area of about 25 sq. miles in Washington (Columbia Hills) and a somewhat smaller area in Oregon (Mill Creek drainage). Also documented from Idaho and Nevada.
