Z - Zero (no occurrences believed extant) - Z - The Cathlamet pocket gopher is known only from the type locality in Wahkiakum County in southwestern Washington, elevation around 762 meters (2,500 feet), where 9 specimens were collected in 1949 (Gardner 1950) and 11 in 1956 (Stinson 2005). It was found in forest openings (tree farm) and in a large burn that regenerated to forest that subsequently was clearcut. Pocket gophers have not been found at this site since 1956, despite brief survey efforts in the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s (Stinson 2005, USFWS 2007).
