Short General Description

Global Range
Twisted oak moss has a widespread but scattered global distribution: southern South America, Europe, Asia, North Africa, and western North America. In North America, it is found along the coast only on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, then southwards and inland through Washington, Oregon and California (COSEWIC 2004).
