Ecology and Life History
Short General Description
A perennial herb with slender stems, 6-15 cm high. This is the only violet in the area with dark, purplish-green, kidney-shaped leaves. The flowers are purple-veined, white or yellow at the base, turning deep blue at the tips. Blooms from late May through August.
