H - >2,500,000 square km (greater than 1,000,000 square miles) - H - This species is widely distributed and common occurring as far north as southeastern Alaska in the west and Newfoundland in the east, and as far south as southern Florida; with the majority of the collections from the northern Pacific coastal region, the Great Lakes area, and on the southern Atlantic Coastal Plain (Zhang and Holsinger, 2003).
