Global Range
H - >2,500,000 square km (greater than 1,000,000 square miles) - H - It is distributed across northern latitudes of North America, Europe and Asia. There are two disjunct ranges in North America, western one extending from Alaska south along the Cordillera to California, and an eastern one ranging from Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Quebec south to New York and Pennsylvania and west along the Great Lakes to Ontario and Michigan (Allen and Edmunds, 1965).
