    H - >2,500,000 square km (greater than 1,000,000 square miles) - H - British Columbia to S. California in the Cascade Mountains and Sierra Nevada. Extends east to Manitoba, and south to New Mexico in the Rocky Mountains. Replaced by subspecies GRACILIS in boreal eastern North American. Has strayed to Indiana.
