H - >2,500,000 square km (greater than 1,000,000 square miles) - H - North Pacific coast of North America. P. o. oreas is mostly in coastal California, south to Monterey Co.; intergrades to the north with P. o. silenus, extending northward to British Columbia. Also reported in Idaho and Montana.
